Performing Opportunities
AP Motion offers several performing opportunities for dancers of all ages:Allegresse Dance Company: Allegresse is a company in residence at AP Motion and presents 2 productions yearly: "The Nutcracker" in December, and "Spring Gala" in March. Participation is by audition, and students are cast based on age and ability. There are separate rehearsal times for these productions outside of normal class times. Participation is open to the general public- students need not be enrolled at AP Motion, although minimum class enrollment at a studio may apply to be cast for certain roles. Ages 3-Adult
AP Motion Performing Company: The Performing Company is called upon several times during the year to perform at various community events, including parades, picnics, the Somerset Patriots Baseball game, the St. Anna Greek Festival, among others. Each event is by sign up, and extra rehearsals are required outside of normal class times. Auditions are held once per year in the Fall, and participation in the "Reach for the Stars" program is required. Auditions "cost" 50 Reach for the Stars points. Ages 7-Adult
AP Motion Travel Company: New for 2011-2012! The AP Motion Travel Company goes to Conventions and Workshops, and may stay overnight at these events. The goal is to allow the students to experience choreographers and teachers outside their regular training. Different events are geared to different age groups, and may have ability or age limits. Some are performance oriented and may require an audition and extra rehearsal time. Ages: varies based on event
